“Elvis,” a new film about the rock and roll legend, is now in theaters. The film premiered on June 24 and is set to debut

Austin Butler stars as Elvis Presley in the drama, which chronicles the singer’s life from his early days to his rise to rock and roll stardom. The film also features Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis’ longtime manager.

The film also stars Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla Presley, with Helen Thomson and Richard Roxburgh appearing as Elvis’ parents. Baz Luhrmann, who is known for films like “Moulin Rouge!”, “Romeo + Juliet” and “The Great Gatsby,” is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote.

Early reviews for “Elvis” were positive, with critics praising Butler’s performance. Members of the Presley family also shared positive thoughts about the film. At the time of writing, it has an “81% Certified Fresh” rating on the review aggregator rotten tomatoes.
