Upon the initiation of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, the Hungarian Development Bank will support the financing of film industry investments with a separate loan within the framework of the Loan Program for a Successful Hungary, the bank’s press department told Filmhu.
Preferential loans are available for investments related to filmmaking and film distribution. Small and medium-size enterprises that hold the certificate issued by the National Film Office may apply for the loan, which means they only need to present 15% of the entire investment as their own capital instead of 25%.
The forint-based preferential loans with a 6% interest rate are provided from the Ft 310 billion budget of the Loan Program for a Successful Hungary. The maximum amount of the 15-year loan is Ft 1 billion. Loans above Ft 50 million can be applied for directly at the Hungarian Development Bank, and from the end of July at commercial banks as well.
