The www.cineuropa.org portal is launching db script a new database of screenwriters and screenplays, in four languages.
The aim of db script is to create a place for meeting and for dialogue between screenwriters, authors and producers. db script is a tool for promotion of new talents and their works.
db script is a database that is open to screenwriter and authors, where they can insert their professional profile and a project outline. Producers have the opportunity to consult the professional profiles and synopses by language, theme or keyword, thanks to a sophisticated search engine.
To guarantee the quality of the service, a jury will choose the screenplays. Professionals who are registered on the system will be given a password to consult the database.
db script is aimed at producers who are looking for a feature length film project or a documentary. The database is also a practical tool to find a screenwriter who can adapt a book, develop a concept, re-examine dialogue or rewrite a screenplay. db script is open to authors who are looking for an associate, a co-author; directors searching for a screenwriter, someone to do an adaptation... As a result of its European nature, there will be particular emphasis on adaptors. The languages used by the chosen talents will be highlighted. The database is in four languages: French, English, Spanish and Italian.
db script is made in collaboration with ACE, EAVE, EUROPEAN PITCH POINT/SCRIPT HOUSE, MEDITERRANEAN FILM INSTITUTE, PREMIO SOLINAS, AFFABULA, FESTIVAL PREMIERS PLANS, SOURCES, MEDISCRIPT, STEP by STEP and NORTH by NORTHWEST.
