378 movie entering on the 37th Hungarian Film Week. It will be held between 31st of January and 7th of February and will open with István Szabó’s Rokonok (Relatives).
January. 16. 2006.
In feature film category there are 28 35mm movies and 9 digital films were nominated before the deadline.
Apart from these there are 175 documentary and 43 scientific-educational films, and 123 experimental or short features enter the festival. Breaking with the habits of previous years, in the documentary and the short feature film category there are two pre-juries that recommend films to the competition program. It is also new that all the films entered but not taking part in the competition are screened and a catalogue is published about them.
The opening ceremony - in the course of which oeuvre prizes and the Master of Hungarian Moving Picture title are awarded - is held in the Budapest Congress Center. The events are held and films are to be seen in Millenary Park, Mammut Cinema and Urania National Movie Theater.
