The 9th Corto Circuito Short Film Festival in Naples opened on Thursday. Grenades by Péter Politzer and Butterfly by István Komár represent Hungary among 33 short films competing for the Golden Horn, the prize to be awarded to the best European short film. It was in 2001 that a Hungarian film had been invited to the comptetition of the festival last.

The Short & Independent Film Festival in Dhaka, Bangladesh also opened on Thursday. After Rain, the most successful Hungarian short film made in 2003 by Péter Mészáros will be screened in the programme.

The Moscow Children’s Film Festival, where It's Summer at Long Last by Gergely Fonyó will be screened, opens on December 20.
